Love! Revlon Fierce Nail Polish

I never thought I would be such a fan of Revlon nail polishes, but I think I just haven't had good luck with their creme finishes. However, I'm loving all the new polishes coming out.

I just bough Fierce and I LOVE it. I am so impressed by the formula. It's super opaque in one coat and paints on very smoothly. It's like a fuchsia/magenta color with silver shimmery base. I'm wearing it with Essie's Matte About You on top. It looks...fierce!

Glitter Polishes!

I love glitter polishes, and just added a few to my collection:

Milani Jewel FX in Gems
Milani in Ruby Jewels
Revlon in Facets of Fuchsia
Revlon in Blue Mosaic

I haven't tried Ruby Jewels or Blue Mosaic yet, but I love Facets of Fuchsia. It's a dark jelly base with fushsia microglitter and chunky silver hexagon glitter (which look fuschia in the base, but when I was removing the polish, I found out they were really sliver). And it looks even more stunning with Milani Gems on top of it. My nails are currently pink for Breast Cancer awareness month, but I might do my nails with F.O.F and Gems again next week. Pictures to come.

My two other favorite glitter polishes:
Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rein Dear
and
OPI Teenage Dream (from the Katy Perry collection, which I usually wear over OPI Meet Me on the Star Ferry)

I'm lusting for a red chunky glitter polish though, particularly:

Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I'm Sexy (Holiday 2011 Collection)

There's also OPI's Getting Miss Piggy With It! from the Muppets Collection but this DL polish looks so pretty and romantic! I want!

Stocking Stuffers Under $10

Okay, okay, yes. Christmas is several months away, but it's never too early for a great list of cheap stocking stuffers! I think the most important quality in a present is usefulness! I like things that I can actually use! No dust collectors, please!

1 Sephora 4-Step Buffer, $5. Probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. I use it everytime I do my nails.

2 One bottle of nail polish, $7-$9. My favorite, easily accessible brands are Essie and OPI. I also like Sephora by OPI for their holiday collection. Last year, I was loving Looks Like Rein, Dear and Sample Sale, maybe they will return for this year's collection, too? Wrap them in tissue paper and tie them with ribbon or decorative ribbon wire.

3 Three nail art pens, $3 each. My two favorite brand of nail art pens are Art Deco and Color Club. I suggest getting one in black, one in white, and one in silver/silver glitter. If the gift recipient already has these colors, get some fun colors like hot pink or yellow. Wrap a nice ribbon around them.

4 Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Lotion, $4 each, Special $2 for $5. Handy for the gift recipient's purse. My favorite scent used to be Country Apple, but I don't think they have it anymore. The B&BW I used to go to closed down so I don't go there much anymore, so I'm not sure if their new scent Fresh Market Apple is the same or similar. Any way, their stuff always smells really good.

5 Bath & Body Works PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel, $1.50 each, Special 8 for $5. Add a cute holder for $0.50! My mom said it looked dumb hanging off my purse, though... I thought it was cute... :(

6 Lipgloss or lipbalm, $2-$10. I suggest Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush lipgloss ($7 each, 2 for $12, 4 for $20). My friend LOVES them. I like them too, they're a little too sticky for my taste, but they are so yummy and cute. I also suggest EOS lipbalms or SoftLips.

7 Photo prints, $0.10 each. As I get older, I cherish photographs more and more. I always liked my mom's photo albums, and with everything going digital now, I find it special to have photos you can hold in your hands and maybe have your grandchildren find them in an old box one day years down the road. There are a lot of sites that print your photos for a few cents a print. Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc. Gather photos from your computer, from Facebook, etc. Tie a pile of photos together with ribbon. This allows the recipient to do whatever they like with the photos: hang them up, put them in an album, etc. Many stationary places and stores like The Container Store sell corrugated boxes for $1-$2. If you can find a small box, you can put the prints in there and tie the box with ribbon.

8 Tea, $4-10. I always appreciate a good cup of tea. Tazo Full Leaf Teabags come in a nice tin at Starbucks for only $6.95.

That's all I have for now. If I think of more, I'll let y'all know.

40 Beauty Questions Tag

SKINCARE

How many times do you wash your face daily?
Twice, once in the morning with Noxema cold cream and once at night with Josie Maran's Argon Cleansing Oil.

What skin type do you have? (Dry, oily, combo, etc.)
Dry/normal/sensitive.

What is your current facial wash?
I've been using Noxema cold cream for years (my 50 year old mom claims it's her secret to still looking like she's 30), but I got a sample of Josie Maran's Argon Cleansing Oil as part of my 500-point perk at Sephora, and I really liked it so I purchased a full-size bottle and now I use it as my night cleanser to break up any residual makeup on my face.

Do you exfoliate?
I love scrubs, but they're always expensive and I haven't found one I really love, so no, I don't exfoliate my skin very often, although I do exfoliate my lips with Fresh Sugar Lip Scrub. It's $22 USD for a 0.6oz tub, which is pretty expensive, but 1) I think I wanted a pick-me-up the day I bought it 2) It's lasted me for a surprising long time. I think since winter but I don't have too much left.

What brand do you use?
The 3 brands I remember trying are Fresh, St. Ives, and Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy. Of the 3, I think I liked Bath & Body Works best (the aromatherapy line in Jasmine Vanilla) but like I said, I haven't found a scrub that I really like.

What moisturizer do you use?
For a long time, I just used Olay Moisturizing Lotion Sensitive Skin with SPF 15, which I still like very much, but now I use a few more and I love them all: Caudalie Sorbet-Creme, Josie Maran Argon Oil, and Befine Night Cream (from my August 2011 Birchbox).

Do you have freckles?
Yes.

Do you use eye cream?
I own a couple but I haven't been using them lately. Sometimes I think it's just better to touch your eye area less than you have to.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Luckily, never.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Nope.

MAKEUP
What foundation do you use?
I don't use foundation at all.

How about concealer?
Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer in 3 for my light, asian skin.

Do you know your undertone color?
I have no idea. I know all the tests to check (white paper next to your skin, checking if your veins look green or blue, seeing if gold or silver looks better on you), but I just cannot tell what undertone I have. I'm Chinese, so I'm guessing yellow but I'm not sure if I look very yellow at all, seeing how light-skinned I am.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
They are fine but I can't for the life of me, get them to work on me.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes, but I don't do it.

What brand of mascara do you use?
My favorites are Maybelline The Cossosal and CoverGirl Last Blast Volume, which is what I've been using on a regular basis.

Sephora or MAC?
Hands down Sephora.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Just brushes, q-tips, and my fingers.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes. Usually I use Urban Decay Primer Potion but lately I've been reaching for my LORAC Behind the Scenes Eye Primer which came with my LORAC Close Up kit.

For the face?
No because I never wear face makeup.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Probably Urban Decay Sin is my number 1 favorite.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I prefer liquid because pencil never stays on for me, but I hardly wear eyeliner to begin with. If I do, it's my Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
I don't use eyeliner pencil.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I think there is a good selection out but I don't own any because they're a little messy. I prefer pressed shadows.

Do you use mineral makeup?
I have one MAC Mineralize Skinfinish but I hardly use it.

What is your favorite lipstick?
Dior Addict Lipstick in Model. <3

How about lipgloss?
NARS lipgloss in Risky Business. <3

What is your favorite blush to use?
I never wear blush but I love my Clinique Fresh Bloom powder in Peony. It's really pretty but I blush fairly easily and I don't wear foundation so I just don't want to add to my natural redness.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
No, I don't really trust ebay and I hate paying extra for shipping...

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes, but I usually only buy mascaras, lip balms, and nail polishes. Everything else, I like to get at Sephora.

Do you go to CCO's (Cosmetic Company Outlets)?
No, I'm not sure where any are.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
I wish I could but they are so expensive.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Sometimes. I've dropped my mascara wands before and I tend to get mascara on my lids.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Too much face makeup. It's just weird when someone's face is totally matte with blush and bronzer and cakey concealer.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I like color but I hardly wear it. Neutral colors just suit me better.

Which celebrity always has great make up?
Hmm, Katie Holmes always looks fresh. And I guess Olivia Wilde, too?

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use? Well, a few times a week, I leave my house with just my eyebrows filled in, but that's kind of a must for me! Excluding eyebrow pencil, I would go with mascara.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes, I do so often. I like my natural face.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
See above.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I think Dior is always very high quality and comes out with really great colors.

What do you think of makeup?
I love it, of course! I think it's a great way to have fun expressing yourself and at the same time, to enhance your natural beauty.

America's Next Top Model All-Stars

I am so excited for ANTM Cycle 17 All-Stars! Unfortunately, I'm never home to watch my favorite TV shows because I work late everyday. So of course, I missed the season premiere but hopefully, the full episode will be online by tomorrow for me to watch. I'm rooting for Laura from Cycle 13 or Kayla from Cycle 15!

I'm stuck at home because of this hurricane and there is NO public transportation. I missed an important work event today because I would have had no way to get home. So I'm pretty bitter right now...

Well, on to my favorite beauty products, since I have more than enough time to make a post about it:

1 Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat, $7. I love it because it dries in under 1 minute and I have a tendency to mess up my manicures in under 1 minute.

2 NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Taupe/Ash, $6. My favorite eyebrow powder because it is the perfect shade for asian eyebrows. I use it along with Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ash, which I also love but unfortunately, isn't as cheap.

3 CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara in Very Black, $8. I work at a martial arts school so I need a good waterproof mascara that will stay on from when I go to school in the morning to when I go to work at night. This does a pretty good job and it makes my lashes look fuller.

4 Victoria's Secret So Sexy Nourish Conditioner, $12 or 3 or $25. Best smelling conditioner I've ever used. Not strong enough to make a person nauseous, but fragrant enough for someone who hugs you to tell you your hair smells good. And it makes my hair smooth and light. I love the matching shampoo, too.

5 Vera Wang Princess 1oz Eau De Toilette, $45. The only perfume I use because every other perfume I've had smells like pee on me. I get compliments on this every time I wear it. No exaggeration. This will forever be my signature scent even when I'm old and wrinkly.

Uh...

Magdalena Frackowiak? Is she not the most gorgeous woman EVER?
